Monthly Meetings:
The Rainland Fly Casters monthly meetings are at 6:45pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month at El Compadre restaurant in Warrenton, OR (119 S. Main Street). Members typically arrive around 5:30pm for dinner prior to the meeting.

Monthly Fly Tying Sessions:
The Rainland Fly Casters members host a Group Fly Tying Session at 7:00pm on the 1st Tuesday of each month at Bridge & Tunnel Bottleshop in Astoria, OR (1390 Duane St). This space is 21+ so please plan accordingly. Patterns vary each month and some materials are provided but attendees are encouraged to bring whatever they would like to work on as well.

Topic: Fly Fishing Techniques for Salmon Fishing on the Naselle River in Washington
On Thursday, October 16th we will have our
monthly meeting at El Compadre restaurant in
Warrenton at 6:30pm. Our speaker this month
will be our very own President, Cameron Pierce
who will discuss fly fishing techniques for
targeting salmon on the Naselle River in
Washington. This presentation will be followed
by a club outing to the Naselle River on
Saturday, October 18th.

Topic: Recap of this summer's club fishing trips
On Thursday, September 18th at
6:30pm we resume our monthly general
meetings at El Compadre Restaurant in
Warrenton. We will be recapping this summer’s
club fishing trips, exchanging information about
recent fishing adventures outside of club trips,
and sharing what we caught and what we
learned along the way. If you would like to

We will not have our usual meeting in August. Instead, we will have an outing to Cullaby Lake in Warrenton. We will meet at Carnahan County Park at 5:30pm. Located east of HWY 101, four miles north of Gearhart, Cullaby Lake is a 220-acre lake and the largest County Park in Clatsop County. With over 4,400 feet of lakefront access, this park has something for everyone

We will not have our usual meeting in July. Instead, we will have an informal fishing outing on our usual meeting night. We’ll fish the Necanicum River behind the old Seaside High School building. Possible species include perch, sea-run cutthroat, and sculpin. This is a tidal estuary and waders are recommended. Feel welcome to arrive and depart when you can. High tide is around 7pm so we should have a chance to find some fish.

Topic: Fly Fishing Coffenbury Lake/Fly Tying Session
At our next monthly meeting on June 19th we will have a presentation and discussion about Fly Fishing at Coffenbury and Crabapple Lakes. We will be breaking down the lakes and discussing tactics to be successful on our outing on the 21st.

After the presentation club member Gabe Sutton will be leading fly tying demonstration and tie along. We will be tying pattern that Gabe has been having great success with, at Coffenbury, over the last few weeks.

At our next monthly meeting on May 15th Josh Phillips at Spawn Fly Fish will present on Coastal Cutthroat at
Ilwaco Cider Company in Washington. He will share his knowledge of pursuing Coastal Cutthroat on SW Washington streams and rivers and also cover fly patterns that have been successful over the years. Hope to see you there!

At our next monthly meeting on April 17th we will have our very own Derek Wiley present on fishing Vernonia Lake in Columbia County. ​At our next monthly meeting on March 17th we will have our very own Tom Flanagan present on fishing the North Fork of the Nehalem River. Tom will cover angling opportunities and run timing in addition to river access, especially above the hatchery. The presentation will wrap up with information on equipment to use and how to stay safe on this beautiful coastal river system. Hope to see you there!

At our next monthly meeting on February 20th we will have our very own Jackson Hughston present on fishing the greater Yellowstone ecosystem including fishing locations and techniques on rivers and lakes.
